News from our partners: Coronavirus – Shropshire Music Trust cancels all future concerts
David Waterhouse, Chair of Shropshire Music Trust Trustees, has written to Shropshire Music Trust supporters.
He said:
“I am writing to you to confirm that SMT trustees decided, with deep regret, to cancel the remaining concerts of the 2019/20 SMT season. We looked to see if we could find a way of continuing the season, but we had to accept that this was not possible, given Government advice and the potential risks involved.
“If you have bought tickets for any of our events which have now been cancelled, information about obtaining refunds will be sent to you within the next few days.
“We much appreciate the numerous offers to donate ticket money, explain how you can do this. The early end to the season has financial implications for us, and we are so grateful for your support. If you would like to donate your refund and/or become a member of our Supporters Scheme then there are details on our website – shropshiremusictrust.co.uk – as to how to do this.
“This year we have had a splendid start to the season with some excellent concerts which were much appreciated. The future is uncertain, but we are determined to get the programme for next season arranged as soon as we can. We will keep you informed of developments. This has not been an easy time for the arts (and for music in particular), and we are so grateful for your interest and support. We hope very much that you will be able to continue with it!”
