Health and care organisations across Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin have boosted their combined leadership team to deliver their ambitious plans to improve the health and well-being of local people.

The Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP) has confirmed the appointments of Martin Harris, as STP System Sustainability and Transformation Director and Jill Robinson, as STP Finance Director.

Martin’s role will be to deliver the STP’s 5 year local long term plan for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin ensuring the programme of work meets its objectives and transforms health and care service delivery for the local population. As STP Finance Director, Jill will have a focus on developing and implementing the STP’s medium and long term financial plans.

Sir Neil McKay, Independent Chair for the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin STP, said:

Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin STP brings together NHS providers, commissioners, general practitioners and local authorities to work in partnership to improve health outcomes and increase collaboration. The STP has been created to allow health and care organisations to work more closely together to improve outcomes and care for local people, reduce pressures on services and make best use of our financial resources.

It sets out ambitious plans for transformed neighbourhood services; safe and effective hospital care; ways in which new technology can be harnessed; and how gaps in the workforce can be filled and financial resources better spent.
