Blog: Dry January – Gavin Hogarth

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be issuing people’s experiences about their Dry January Challenge. Today Gavin Hogarth, Drugs and Alcohol Team officer gives us an update about his experience.

The last weekend brought on the first visit to the pub since the challenge began, a pub which sells a very good range of real ales which I happen to like particularly much …. Luckily for me they also sold ginger beer so I managed to get through that ok!

Apart from that evening though I’m finding the challenge surprisingly easy and glad to say that I’m not really missing alcohol at all. I think the fact that we have a few people in the office involved also helps matters – a little healthy competition being g a good thing.
