Severn Valley Country Park is looking for Outdoor Education and Events volunteers to help inspire the next generation.

The park is a 126-acre outdoor classroom and their education programme aims to give children hands-on experience with nature.

Volunteers will work directly with young people delivering activities such as pond dipping, mini beast hunts, river studies, rock and fossil hunts and more.

Appropriate training will be given with the aim to give those interested the opportunity to lead sessions.

Engaging the children with the subject is the most important aspect of the role but it also involves setting up and then clearing up after the sessions whatever the weather.

If you would like things to be more relaxed, the team are also looking for volunteers to help deliver their fun school holiday activities.

Anyone interested can come along to a Taster session on Wednesday 8 October, from 2pm to 3.30pm. You’ll get to meet rangers who will show you what being an outdoor education and events volunteer is all about. Call on 01746 781 192 to register your interest.

Severn Valley Country Park is a perfect setting to help young people discover more about nature and landscape.

In order to cater for our growing number of school trips, we are really keen to hear from anyone with a passion for environmental education and a willingness to share that passion
