Enjoy a local crafts showcase at The Darwin in Shrewsbury this April
The Shropshire Growth Hub has partnered with The Darwin in Shrewsbury and local business Buy-From, to showcase a range of creative talent in Shropshire.
A pop-up artisan retail shop at The Darwin from Monday 15 April to Saturday 20 April 2024 inclusive will provide an opportunity for eight local craftspeople to display and sell their unique products to local shoppers.

Anna Sadler from Shropshire Growth Hub said:-
“We support businesses in a variety of ways. We organised a pop-up shop like this in 2018, and it proved so popular that we wanted to repeat it and give an opportunity to eight more Shropshire businesses.
“Shropshire has a wealth of diverse creative companies and individuals. This showcase will feature crafts people from all over the county. We have everything from artists and illustrators to a perfumier creating vegan fragrances, a company which creates items through upcycling, another creating homeware, and a creator of original handcrafted jewellery.
“We are very grateful to have partnered with both The Darwin, who provided us with free retail space within the shopping centre, and Louise Welsby at Buy-From, who is helping to organise and promote the event.”
Kevin Lockwood, The Darwin manager, said:-
“It seemed like a great idea to us. One of our vacant units is being utilised to benefit local businesses, and it introduces some new and unique retailers to The Darwin for our shoppers to explore and enjoy. We were pleased to help.”
Louise Welsby said:-
“Shoppers will not only have the chance to buy handcrafted and unique items from local businesses, but also find out more about the passion and ideas behind the creation of the products. We urge people to come along during that week and take home something truly special.”
Mark Jones, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for growth and regeneration, said:-
“Our Shropshire Growth Hub seeks to support all types of Shropshire businesses. We want to facilitate new ideas and work collaboratively to provide new opportunities, and this is a perfect example of that.”
The Shropshire Artisan Showcase will take place at The Darwin, upper level (next door to Costa Coffee), from Monday 15 April to Saturday 20 April 2024 inclusive, 10am to 4pm.
