Ellesmere event for dads, grandads, male carers and their children
Dads, grandads and male carers of children under five and their siblings in the Ellesmere area are invited to a special event on Saturday 15 October 2011.
The free event, organised by Shropshire Council’s Sure Start children’s centre services will be held at Ellesmere children’s centre, Ellesmere Primary School, Elson Road, Ellesmere from 10am-12pm.
There will be special jungle-themed activities, including making animal puppets and a jungle song time. Children can also explore the wide variety of toys and activities available at the children’s centre both indoors and outdoors.
Families can also find out about what else is on offer for young children in their local area and get information and advice from children’s centre support workers.
Councillor Ann Hartley, Cabinet member for health and well-being and local councillor for Ellesmere Urban, who will be attending, said:
“This is a great opportunity to give local dads, male carers and even grandads in and around Ellesmere, who don’t usually attend our Stay and Play sessions during the week, an opportunity to take part in similar activities at a weekend. I hope many will come along and join in the fun.”
The dads events are planned to take place once a term at the centre.
