Students from Shrewsbury Colleges Group will be taking over The Darwin shopping centre on Saturday 13 May, holding a unisex fashion event and offering free beauty treatments, food and photographs.

On the day there will be four student fashion showcases on the Centre’s lower level highlighting a selection of unisex fashion trends from stores at The Darwin.

The showcases will be held at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

Visitors can expect to see students modelling summer styles from Primark, JD, M&S, New Look and Skechers, as well as Teresa’s Boutique, SheLoved PreLoved and Avant Garde.

Free beauty treatments – including hand massages and mini manicures – will also be offered to members of the public by health and beauty students.

And the catering team from the college’s award-winning Origins restaurant will be handing out free samples of the food students learn to prepare on their courses, all of which are served in the restaurant.

Meanwhile on the upper level, near Costa, photography students will be taking free studio portraits of families, or professional headshots for work and socials such as LinkedIn.  Find them on the Upper Level near Costa.

And students will be selling their unique artwork and creations from the past year’s work.

Kevin Lockwood, The Darwin centre manager, said:

“We’re delighted to be working with Shrewsbury Colleges Group and our many fashion retailers to put on what promises to be a spectacular event. We look forward to seeing you there.”

On the day the college’s higher education team will be on hand near Clarks to provide information on the range of degree-level courses on offer at the London Road Campus.

And the college will also be providing information on their distance learning courses, and their hobby and professional part-time courses.
