Shrewsbury jeweller delighted with move to The Darwin shopping centre
The new F.Hinds store in The Darwin centre
Shrewsbury jeweller F.Hinds have said how pleased they are that they took the opportunity to move to The Darwin shopping centre during the third Lockdown at the start of 2021. The family business has been trading since 1856 and has been in Shrewsbury for well over 30 years.
Andrew Hinds, Chairman of F.Hinds, which has 127 stores across England and Wales, said:
“We are delighted with our move to a bigger and better store in The Darwin centre.
“This has enabled us to show an even wider range of the diamond, gold and silver jewellery we offer as well as more of the watch and fashion brands where we are official stockists, and there’s even more to come in 2022.
“We are pleased with how many other retailers have joined us as this is helping to ensure Shrewsbury has a single, vibrant indoor centre to complement the rest of the shopping in the town.”
Kevin Lockwood, The Darwin centre manager, said:
“We start 2022 in a really positive position. The festive trade was strong for our tenants as we continue to offer shoppers a great mix of national and independent brands in a modern and attractive environment. We have lots of exciting initiatives and events in store for the year ahead, as well as the relocation of Wilko to The Darwin centre, so I have no doubt this success will continue.”
Andrew Hinds added:
“Despite the immensely challenging times we all find ourselves in, the move has enabled us to have our best ever year in Shrewsbury. We’ve been glad to see so many of our existing customers move with us, and we’ve made many new friends who hadn’t shopped with us before.
