StrettonDale waste and recycling services on the LJC agenda
The StrettonDale Local Joint Committee (LJC) wants to find out your views on the local waste collection and recycling services at its meeting on Thursday 16 June 2011 at 7pm at Cardington Village Hall.
Shropshire Councillor Tim Barker said:
“I’m really looking forward to welcoming everyone who can come along to the beautiful village of Cardington. We have a full agenda with items of interest to all, so I hope that as many people as possible can find the time to be with us.”
There will also be an opportunity to meet the new Area Director – South, Chris Edwards, and find out more about the role.
At the meeting there will be information on progress of Shropshire Council’s Market Towns Revitalisation Programme, an update on bus and rail provision and the council’s Rural Settlements Challenge Fund.
At its meeting in January 2011, the committee granted financial assistance to the following projects:
• Longmynd Camera Club towards a new print viewer – £153
• Church Stretton Summerfest towards the annual event – £2,500
• Church Stretton School towards cultural trips for the community – £400
• Church Stretton Town Council towards a new area website – £3,000
• Church Stretton Health and Social Care partnership towards costs for developing the health and well-being hub project – £200
