Enable prepares for take-off to this year’s Cosford Air Show
Shropshire Council’s supported employment service, Enable, are pleased to announce that their veteran employment team will be exhibiting at this year’s Cosford Air Show on Sunday 11 June 2017. The event, which is considered to be the most popular air show in the West Midlands, will see thousands attendees from across the country, who will be able to learn about the history of the RAF as well as seeing some iconic planes in action.
This will be Enable’s second year attending the air show and they are hoping to follow on from last year’s success, in which they gained fantastic feedback from visitors and other local employers.
Enable’s team of expert advisors will be on hand to offer information about their supported employment service for vulnerable veterans. The organisation works in partnership with the veteran charity, Walking with the Wounded, to provide support for veterans with mental health needs and physical disabilities, who are looking for paid employment.
Enable helps veterans gain a range of skills and qualifications in order to fulfil new careers outside the military and to become reintegrated into society – providing long term security for themselves and their families. The project allows people to receive individualised support so that they can find the right job that suits their skills and interests. Service users and employers also receive time unlimited support beyond the beginning on employment for as long as required.
Cosford Air Show is a key event and will show a wide range of interactive exhibits about the RAF and an eclectic mix of trade stands. Visitors will have a chance to jump into a cockpit and witness amazing flying displays, the show has something for both adults and children to enjoy a fun-filled day.
Why not come and visit Enable at the show and speak to one of their expert employment officers? Enable will be on hand to offer advice to veterans looking for employment, as well as letting employers know the huge benefits that come from employing someone through this unique service.

Walking with the Wounded
Walking with the Wounded (WWTW) was established in 2010 to raise funds for the re-education and re-training of our wounded servicemen and women. WWTW helps fund training and education to help them find a career, so that they can support themselves and re-build a life in the civilian work place. Without just focusing on those leaving the services today – the lack of awareness of the impact of physical and mental injury dates back to the Falklands and Northern Ireland. WWTW aims to provide a support network to all injured veterans.
