Craven Arms residents and visitors are being urged to share their views on open spaces and play areas in the town to help shape future improvements.

Craven Arms Area Youth Group, Craven Arms Playing Field Association and Shropshire Council are inviting people to tell them what they think of open spaces and play areas in Craven Arms by filling out a short survey.

Councillor Steve Charmley, Shropshire Council Cabinet member for culture and leisure, said:

“We want to hear people’s opinions on their favourite open spaces and play areas, which features and activities they enjoy the most and where they feel these areas could benefit from further investment.

“We would really appreciate it if people could pick up a survey from the post office, the community centre, the Discovery Centre or the Gateway in Craven Arms or fill it in online.”

Neville Stephens, chair of the Craven Arms Area Youth Group said:

“We are interested in the views of all residents and people using the town’s play areas and open spaces. The information provided will help us to raise funds and get future investment into the town over the coming years.

“We would encourage all family members to each complete a questionnaire, to get a view from all age groups.”

James Gibson, Shropshire Councillor for Church Stretton and Craven Arms, added:

“Please take the time to complete the survey and give us your ideas – it will only take five minutes out of your day and you will help us to make sure we are representing the views of the residents of, and visitors to, Craven Arms.”

David Evans, also a Shropshire Councillor for Church Stretton and Craven Arms, said:

“We know that some of our play areas and open spaces could benefit from improvements, and want to be sure we are putting forward what people want to see in the town.”

The survey can be completed online at www.surveymonkey.com/s/cravenarmsopenspaces

The closing date for completing and returning the survey is Friday 20 May 2011.
