Roman Road in Shrewsbury – temporary change of traffic management for Bike4Life event
The Bike4Life event is due to take place in Shrewsbury this coming Sunday (8 May 2016) and will attract an estimated 3000-4000 motorcyclists from all directions into Shrewsbury.
Following discussions between Shropshire Council and Severn Trent Water – who are carrying out the current water main replacement work on Roman Road – it’s been agreed that the current traffic management will be temporarily changed to minimise any potential disruption on the day.
The current traffic management comprises of a one-way system (with through traffic allowed to travel between Longden Road roundabout and Porthill roundabout in a north-westerly direction).
The road closure and diversion will be temporarily lifted on Saturday afternoon (7 May) and replaced by two-way traffic lights. The closure will be reinstated on Sunday evening (8 May).
