Shropshire Council’s rangers from Severn Valley Country Park have organised a guided walk from Alveley to Tuck Hill on Wednesday 2 March 2016, 9.30am – 4.30pm.

The circular walk starts at Severn Valley Country Park and follows a route through Alveley over Romsley Hill and along the Shropshire and Staffordshire border to Tuck Hill.

At Tuck Hill there will be the opportunity to view the wonderful display of snowdrops at Holy Innocents churchyard. The church will also be open to look around and refreshments including homemade cakes and hot drinks will be available. Our thanks to the congregation and Rev Ward for opening the church. After lunch we will return to the park, taking in fine views of the Shropshire hills.

Walking is a good way to keep fit and this walk is a great way to achieve the daily target of 10,000 steps as recommended by the NHS. It is said that a brisk 10-minute walk is equivalent to 1,000 steps. Meet at the Visitor Centre at 9.30am and we will return by 4.30pm.

Visitors joining the country park rangers are asked to bring a packed lunch with drink, as breaks will be taken along the way, and also to wear walking boots and gaiters due to muddy paths. Please bring waterproofs in case of wet weather. Please bring some change to make a contribution to refreshments.

Booking is essential. Prices are adults £3.50, children £2. For more details or to book a place, please call 01746 781192.
