This year Severn Valley Country Park, near Alveley, has a number of exciting activities for  children to enjoy over the summer holidays.

The regular Wednesday events (starting on 22 July 2015) will continue with lots of different themes including Minions, Vikings, superheroes, record-breaking, space and dinosaurs.

Each Friday rangers will be leading nature and wildlife sessions. These sessions will rotate between pond dipping and mini-beast hunting. They are a great way to learn about the different habitats within the park and the many creatures that live in them.

Each day of the holidays, a self-led trail will be available from the visitor centre between 11am-4pm. Families can follow the clues around the park to help find favourite storybook characters.

There will also be some fabulous outdoor entertainment during August. Local company Salvage Cinema will be bringing Hollywood to the park when they screen two classic films. Mamma Mia! The Movie will be shown on Friday 7 August and Back to the Future on Saturday 8 August.

Rain or Shine Theatre Company will be returning to the Severn Valley on Friday 14 August, as part of their national tour, with William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Rangers are inviting visitors to bring a picnic and low-backed chairs to add to their enjoyment.

During the holidays the teashop and visitor centre will be open 7 days a week from 11am to 5pm. The teashop offers ice creams, hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and light snacks.
