Family fun day in The Quarry, Shrewsbury this Thursday

Sure Start children’s centres in Shrewsbury are holding their tenth annual “Party in the Park” family fun day in The Quarry this Thursday (18 June 2015) from 11am to 2pm.

The event aims to promote the benefits of Sure Start services to families in the central Shropshire area with children aged under five.

Hundreds of local families are expected to join Sure Start staff and others for a fun and informative free day out and all are welcome to attend.

There will be a range of free, fun activities on offer for families to enjoy.

Healthy snacks will be offered and families are encouraged to bring along some lunch and have a picnic.

Representatives from the library service, the allotment society, Park Run, the ambulance service, the fire service, health visitors and the Family Information Service are all coming along to promote their services to visitors.

And, weather permitting, the paddling pool will be available for families to use on the day.

In addition, the team who work in the local area will be on hand to answer questions about the services that Sure Start Children’s Centres provide across Shrewsbury and in the surrounding areas and to offer support.
