Tonight’s Much Wenlock and Shipton Local Joint Committee (LJC) meeting (Wednesday 28 January 2015) will discuss GP surgery capacity in the Much Wenlock area.

Doctors from the Much Wenlock medical practice will be speaking.

Councillor David Turner, chair of the LJC, said:

“I have recently heard some concerns locally about the increased demands being placed on our GP surgeries.  This is a concern that I share.  I shall be very interested in hearing the views of our doctors and of local residents.”

The meeting will also be able to hear from Clive Wright, Chief Executive of Shropshire Council, who will be speaking about the challenges it faces.  He will speak about the way in which Shropshire Council is delivering services, including via its wholly-owned business ip&e ltd.

Also present will be councillors from the town and parish councils and Shropshire Council, to discuss any other important issues that residents may want to bring to the meeting.

The meeting is to be held at the Priory Hall, Much Wenlock at 7pm tonight (Wednesday 28 January).  Members of the Local Policing Team will be in attendance to listen to any concerns or issues.
