South Shropshire specialist food ingredient company expands thanks to support from Shropshire Council

A south Shropshire company that develops, blends, packs and supplies confectionery, edible decorations and powder food ingredients to food manufacturers, wholesalers, foodservice and retail customers is growing and taking on more staff thanks to a business grant from Shropshire Council.

Orchard Valley Foods based in Burford, near Tenbury Wells, has received grants for new machinery and to increase their floor space through the Business Enterprise Fund – European funding that is administered by Shropshire Council.

Steve Charmley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for business growth, said:

“We work hard to support ambitious growing companies, and Orchard Valley Foods is a great example of an innovative Shropshire company investing in themselves that Shropshire Council has been pleased to support.”

John Taylor, Operations Director at Orchard Valley Foods, said:

“The business grant has helped Orchard Valley Foods to improve productivity and create more jobs as we’ve picked up larger contracts.”
