Nathaniel Clewlow, aged 5 from Cockshutt, is the first to receive a Gold Certificate marking 60 visits to Ellesmere Library.

Nathaniel joined the library two years ago and registered to become a member of the Bookstart Bear Club.  This is a  free Bookstart initiative designed to get parents reading to their children from an early age and develop their children’s love of books, and begin a ‘library habit’.  The children receive a ‘passport’ which they get stamped at every visit, and after six visits they receive a certificate.  Their 10th certificate is the extra special Gold certificate.

Ellesmere Library staff Sheila and Anna welcome all families to join the library and take part in the scheme and help give their children such a good start in life.  They are also looking forward to the Summer Reading Challenge which runs through the summer holidays, for children of primary school age.

Opening timnes are Tuesdays 10am-6pm; Fridays 10am-5pm; Saturdays 9.30am-4pm (now closing at lunchtime 1pm-2pm).
