Hair Academies open evenings
County Training’s Hair Academies opens their doors on Monday 28 April 2014 to those who are interested in finding out more about a career in hairdressing, barbering or nail services.
County Training, part of Shropshire Council, has four Hair Academies in the county, where people of all ages attend as part of completing related vocational qualifications. School and college leavers are invited to the open evenings, where they will gain a fantastic insight into what an apprenticeship, and a career in hair and beauty, involves.
Tutors and assessors will be present at each event, along with some of our current students who will be showing off their newly-learnt skills.
The events will run from 5pm-7pm on Monday 28 April 2014 at the hair academy venues, which are:
- The Gateway, Shrewsbury (SY1 1NB)
- Victoria Centre, Oswestry (SY11 2HT)
- Ludlow Learning Centre (SY8 1NW)
- Hollinswood House, Telford, Stafford Park 1 (TF3 3DD)
Salon owners are also encouraged to drop in, as well as stylists who are looking to further their career through a vocational qualification in hairdressing, nails, barbering or even management or customer service. There will also be lots of advice on offer to those who are interested in recruiting a new apprentice to their business.
Ann Hartley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member children’s services – transformation and safeguarding, said:
“I recommend all who are considering a hair and beauty career, pop along to one of the open evenings on Monday 28 April. All of County Training’s hair academies have new, modern facilities and offer the most up-to-date training; this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is interested in finding out more.”
There is no need to book, just simply drop in anytime between 5-7pm on the night where our assessors and tutors will greet you. If you can’t make it but would like to find out more about apprenticeships please get in touch.
