Temporary service at Whitchurch Library

Whitchurch Library will be operating a temporary service from Monday 24 March 2014 (not from today, 10 March 2014, as previously announced) in the Library Garage at the rear of the building.   Access is via St Mary’s Street. 

Opening hours will be Mondays 1.30pm-4pm; with Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10am-4pm.  This is to allow for essential building work which is being carried out as part of the refurbishment of the Civic Centre. 

There will be a limited range of stock available and items can be borrowed, renewed or returned.  There will be no access to computers during this time. 

Gwilym Butler, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for leisure, libraries and culture, said:

“Access to library services will be limited, and we recognise the inconvenience that this will cause.  Customers will be advised once work is completed and the library can return to its current location.  This is likely to take several weeks.  We would like to say a big thank you to our readers for their continued support during the building work.  Staff should also be commended for wanting to maintain a service under difficult conditions.”
