Related topics: Community / Democracy

The meeting, to be held at St Johns Church Weston Rhyn  Centre, on Tuesday 18 June 2013  at  7pm, will give residents an opportunity to learn more about the St Martins School. Principal, Nigel Keats, will be giving an update on the future plans for the facility.

Other items on the agenda include a presentation detailing feedback from the Big Local Trust and progress to date.

The committee has 11 applications for consideration in this round including a request for funding to support a pilot project for the use of the swimming pool at the sports centre in St Martins School over the summer holidays. The committee has a budget of approximately £21,000 to allocate this year and are looking to divide that between the three meetings.

Councillor David Lloyd, Chairman of the Gobowen, Selattyn, St Martins & Weston Rhyn Local Joint Committee (LJC), said:

“Our committee looks at each application and ensures the projects make a difference in the area and support the fabulous effort that local groups put in. The meetings are not just about funding. They help the representatives of Shropshire Council and the three parishes to consider issues and work together to resolve them.”

People attending will have an opportunity to view a site plan and proposed play equipment that is available for a new play area in Maes Alwyn Close.
