Repair works to be done at the English Bridge Gyratory
Severn Trent Water have arranged for urgent repairs to valve covers in the carriageway at the English Bridge Gyratory in Shrewsbury to take place on Sunday 9 June 2013.
To carry out the work safely, the traffic will need to be managed by temporary traffic signals and suspension of one ways around the Gyratory. The traffic management preparations and work is due to commence early on Sunday morning.
The work will begin at approximately 5am, with an expected finish at around midday.
Access to St Nicholas Church will be maintained, with traffic marshals aiding people access the car park.
Claire Wild, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for highways and transport, said:
‘‘These are essential repairs which urgently need to be carried out. We hope that the work will be able to be completed as quickly as possible to cause minimal disruption.”
Mansel Williams, local Shropshire Council member for Belle Vue, said:
“The work has been arranged to be undertaken when the road is usually least busy and for the temporary traffic signals to manage traffic during the work. Hopefully the work timescales will not inconvenience road users too greatly.”
