North planning committee decisions – 5 February 2013
The following planning decisions were made by Shropshire Council’s north planning committee at its meeting on Tuesday 5 February 2013 in Oswestry.
Residential Development Site South Of Braemar, Elson, Ellesmere – 12/01638/OUT
Outline application (access, landscaping, layout and scale) for residential development of 7 no. dwellings
Decision: That the application be deferred to a future meeting to allow the Officer time to prepare a further report taking into account the effects of the changed Policies.
Quarry Cottage, Knockin Heath, Oswestry – 12/02976/FUL
Erection of 2 no. affordable dwellings each with detached garage/store and green house.
Decision: That planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.
Land At Upper Chirk Bank, Chirk Bank – 12/04031/OUT
Outline application for the erection of 7No dwellings (all matters reserved).
Decision: That the application be deferred to a future meeting to allow the Officer time to prepare a further report taking into account the effects of the changed Policies.
Field At Vantage Farm, Bletchley Road, Bletchley, Market Drayton – 12/01367/EIA
Erection of 6No poultry units, 14No feed bins, a biomass store, boiler room and ancillary buildings including 6 No control rooms and office; construction of weigh bridge; formation of new access, road improvements, landscape scheme; installation of 4 x 53No mono crystaline solar panels on roof of shed No 3.
Decision: That, subject to the reason for refusal including the following:
The village of Bletchley was considered a heritage asset due to it having an historic character and nature, the English Heritage Guidance on Setting of Heritage Assets indicated that a setting was the surroundings in which an asset was experienced irrespective of whether they were designated or not; and
There were three threads to sustainable development; economic, social and environmental and all three should be sought simultaneously, the weight given to the economic benefits was not considered to outweigh the harmful impacts of the development on the social and environmental aspects.
Planning permission be refused in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.
Land At The Wheatlands, Baschurch – 12/02314/OUT
Outline application for proposed residential development; formation of new vehicular and pedestrian access (all matters reserved).
Decision: That, subject to;
- The amendments to Condition 1 as set out in the schedule of additional letters; and
- The application for reserved matters being considered by this Committee.
Outline planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.
Villa Farm, 10 Audlem Road, Woore – 12/05150/FUL
Resubmission of Application Reference 12/04005/FUL for the proposed change of use of outbuilding to provide foodstore/preparation rooms, groom area, W.C. and isolation pen in association with a boarding cattery, together with the erection of four detached buildings to provide a total of 50 cattery boarding pens.
Decision: That, subject to an additional condition to require collection of any commercial waste to be from within the site, planning permission be granted in accordance with the Officer’s recommendation.
