Urgent plea as young Shropshire child Charley needs a loving home

Shropshire Council’s fostering team is issuing an urgent plea for a loving family to come forward and give a three-year-old Shropshire girl a loving home.

Charley, who is currently in care, loves making music, drawing and burying herself in her ball pool.  Now she needs to complete her life with a caring family who can provide for her and help her fulfil her potential.

Charley sleeps well and loves being in a routine.  She enjoys being with other children at times.

Ann Hartley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for health and well-being, said:

“Children in need of care are among some of the most vulnerable in our local communities. We need more people to come forward to become foster carers, in particular for children like Charley with complex needs.  These children are waiting for a family to call their own; someone who will care about them throughout their childhood and beyond.  I hope our plea will result in a family for Charley who will foster her and help develop and direct her life in a relaxed, constructive, and caring home.

Chris Jones, social worker at Shropshire Council, said:

“Charley is a lovely little girl who is full of life, with a keen willingness to continue learning and experiencing new things.  Charley now needs a chance to be part of a committed and loving family.  She has disabilities including mobility issues, and will require ongoing care and attention, but the progress she is achieving makes up for the demands that can arise.

“The rewards of caring for Charley are great. While her development is slow, she is making good progress and just needs that commitment from a family to help her take those next important steps in life.”

If you think you can give Charley the life she needs, call the Shropshire fostering team on 0800 783 8798 for more information.

The name of the child has been changed to protect their identity.
