Communities are important to Gobowen, Selattyn, St Martins and Weston Rhyn LJC
Local people are being encouraged to go along to their next Gobowen, Selattyn, St Martins & Weston Rhyn Local Joint Committee (LJC) and have the opportunity to see how the LJC grant helped a group to complete their refurbishment project.
The meeting, to be held at St John’s Church, Weston Rhyn on Tuesday 17 July 2012 at 7pm, will give residents a chance to discuss the issues which affect them and hear what is happening in the area.
Items on the agenda include a presentation detailing the progress to date on the recent site allocations, and give people an opportunity to put their views across. There will also be an update from The Big Local Trust project, that aims to offer funding to revitalise the area over the next 10 years.
Councillor David Lloyd, Chairman of the Gobowen, Selattyn, St Martins and Weston Rhyn LJC, said:
“Shropshire Council’s extensive consultation on SAMDev regarding sites for housing and other future developments closes on Friday 20 July 2012. We will have an officer present to deal with last minute queries from the public. Meeting at a community venue that has been supported by the committee demonstrates the difference funding makes. We are now looking at spreading our funding further and supporting new initiatives.”
The group has an annual budget of £17,403 that can be allocated to buy in additional Shropshire Council services or support local community initiatives.
