Attingham Park and other local businesses
When roads are closed, Attingham Park will remain open with access via Emstrey Island. Please follow the diversions in place and allow a little extra time for your journey. Businesses in the area – including Home Farm and the the Mytton and Mermaid – will remain open as normal during the works.
During the closures access to the work areas will be maintained for the following:
- Residents living within the closure, when safe to do so.
- Businesses located within the closure, when safe to do so.
- Pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and equestrians.
- Emergency vehicles.
- Essential highway personnel.
- Utility or public service vehicles when safe to do so.
For all other traffic a signed diversion will be place. Depending on their vehicle type, road users may be able to choose an alternative diversion route.
Work will be carried out by Kier Infrastructure on behalf of Shropshire Council.

Further information
The roads are two of more than 70 stretches of road across Shropshire being treated this year as part of Shropshire Council’s surface dressing programme.
Surface dressing is a quick, efficient and cost-effective way of preventing potholes, maintaining skid-resistance and waterproofing road surfaces. It forms a major part of the council’s annual road maintenance programme and is being carried out alongside other preventative and reactive maintenance work.
All planned roadworks are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Any changes will be displayed on the yellow advanced warning signs and on https://one.network/
