News from Shrewsbury Big Town Plan Partnership

Groups of Shrewsbury residents will soon be gathering over tea and coffee to share their Riverside Shopping Centre memories – as part of a special series of sessions designed to shape a new exhibition celebrating the Centre’s place in the town’s history.

These friendly reminiscence sessions will help shape the Riverside Remembered exhibition – and local people are being invited to join one of the sessions and share their memories.

The session themes and dates are:

  • Construction: Monday 30 March [2026], 10am–12pm
  • Dancing: Tuesday 14 April, 2–4pm
  • Shopping: Friday 17 April, 2–4pm
  • Live music: Thursday 23 April, 2–4pm
  • Work: Wednesday 29 April, 10am–12pm
  • Miss Shropshire: Date to be confirmed

Each two hour session offers a relaxed space to talk, reminisce and explore old photos and newspaper clippings. Whether people remember the early construction work, lively shopping days, nights out at Tiffany’s or community events, every story helps bring Riverside’s past to life.
