Call for volunteers at See & Hear Shropshire
Volunteers are needed to help out in a number of roles at the forthcoming See & Hear Shropshire event in Shrewsbury.
This free event is an exhibition for people with sight loss, hearing loss or dementia and features 80 local and national exhibitors and is on Tuesday 20 May from 10am to 3pm at Theatre Severn.
Background
Community Resource and Sight Loss Shropshire are working in partnership to hold the See & Hear exhibition event in Shropshire, the aim of which is to bring together professionals from various businesses to showcase their products and services related to sight and/or hearing loss alongside voluntary and local authority services in Shropshire, including Telford and Wrekin.
The Council fund the Sight and Hearing Loss Support service that is run by Community Resource. This comprises the eleven volunteer-run hearing loss support hubs held monthly in all market towns in Shropshire and the three sight loss groups facilitated in the county for people with a sight impairment.

Event poster
The two charities partnered very successfully last year to bring this important event back to Shropshire for the benefit of those with a sensory loss, the last time it had been held prior to last year was 2019.
This year the partnership is being furthered to include Radfield Home Care’s popular Dementia Day at the same location on the same day. This collaboration will allow visitors to benefit from a dual-focused event, bringing together support, information and resources for individuals experiencing sensory loss, as well as those managing dementia.
