Reminder about changes to Christmas recycling and waste collection days

Householders in the Shropshire Council area are being advised that there may be a change to their recycling and waste collection day over the Christmas and new year period.

Between 21 December [2024] and 4 January [2025] some collections will be made earlier than normal, some will be later than normal, and some will stay the same.

Changes come into effect on Saturday 21 December and collections return to normal on Monday 6 January.

Christmas collection calendars are being delivered to all properties from today (Monday 2 December) – see below – and festive collection dates can also be seen on the Shropshire Council website.

People are also reminded that they must subscribe to Shropshire Council’s garden waste service if they want their garden bin to be emptied, and if they want their real Christmas tree to be taken away. For information and to subscribe visit www.shropshire.gov.uk/gardenwaste.
