Plaish Bridge to close for essential maintenance

Related topics: Highways, transport and environmental maintenance

Plaish Bridge – which carries the U5815 unclassified road over the Hughley Brook between Plaish Park junction and Day House Farm junction – will be closed for maintenance on 2 December 2024 for one day.

The work involves removal of vegetation from the structure, general repointing, and repairs to impact damage to the downstream parapet.

To carry out the proposed work safely it will be necessary to close the bridge to vehicular traffic between 8am and 4pm.

When the bridge is closed, traffic will be diverted via local roads by a signed diversion route.

Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the work.

The work will be carried out by Shropshire Council’s term maintenance contractor, Kier with supervision being provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
