Closures on A528 this month for highways maintenance work

The A528 between Ellesmere and Cockshutt will be closed in sections from today (Monday 2 September 2024) until Thursday 19 September for maintenance work, including sign post repairs, iron works and kerbing repairs.

From 2 to 11 September work will be carried out between Burlton and Cockshutt, from 9.30am to 2.45pm each day.

From 11 to 16 September work will be carried between Cockshutt and Colemere Woods, from 9.30am to 2.45pm each day.

From 16 to 19 September work will be carried out between Colemere Woods and Tunnel Bank, from 9.30am to 4pm each day.

The road will be closed during these times, with one section closed at any one time. While the road is closed a signed diversion will be in place. Depending on their vehicle type, road users may be able to choose an alternative diversion route.

Access/egress for properties and businesses within the closures will be maintained when safe to do so.

The work is being carried out by Multevo on behalf of Shropshire Council.
