Blind and partially-sighted voters offered advice about voting at polling stations

Ahead of the general election on Thursday 4 July [2024] Shropshire Council has published advice for blind and partially-sighted people planning to vote at a polling station.

Three short videos have been produced – one for each of the North Shropshire, Shrewsbury and South Shropshire constituencies. Each will help blind and partially-sighted voters understand the voting process and how to mark their ballot paper using the handheld tactile voting devices that will be available in polling stations.

They also run through the candidates’ names and other information found on the ballot paper in each constituency.

The three videos – see below – can be found on the Shropshire Council website, and on the council’s Youtube channel.
