Inflatable fun and free taster sessions on offer at Church Stretton Leisure Centre open day
Church Stretton Leisure Centre is throwing open its doors for a free open day to showcase a new pool inflatable and the wide range of activities on offer at the centre.
People are being invited along to discover the opportunities available to them on Saturday 24 February 2024 from 10am to 2pm. There will be taster sessions, family activities and membership incentives to people who sign up.
The main attraction will be the new pool inflatable, which has been purchased with funds raised by Stretton Pool Action, supporters of Church Stretton swimming pool.
Robert Macey, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for culture and digital, said:-
“On behalf of Shropshire Council and the leisure centre team I would like to thank Stretton Pool Action for their continued support, and this generous donation of the new swimming pool inflatables which will be enjoyed by many in the community for years to come.
“Our Exercise on Referral programme has been a great success across the county and people will be able to find out about that at the open day, as well as enjoy some more informal activities such as the pool inflatable session and a selection of classes.
“The open day is an opportunity for people to take a look and see how they can help improve their health by taking up even just one of the many activities available at Church Stretton.”
As well as the swimming pool, the centre boasts a gym, studio, outdoor tennis/netball courts, as well a sports hall with facilities for badminton, football, netball, martial arts and pickleball.
