Shropshire Council is asking residents, partners and stakeholders to respond to a survey to let them know how they use the council’s information directories, and how this could be improved in the future.

The council currently collects and shares information about local services, events, activities and community groups, and shares these in multiple directories, including the Shropshire Family Information Directory, Shropshire Community Directory, and others such as the Social Prescribing Directory led by Qube.

Feedback from users has suggested that some people would prefer to see a single directory that combines all of this information and this gives an opportunity to make more improvements, making the service more effective and user friendly.

Robert Macey, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for culture and digital, said:-

“We work really hard to make sure that we have the most accurate and up-to-date information for our customers, so that they are easily able to find services to meet their needs and help them to get the most out of life in our county.

“The Shropshire Community Directory and Shropshire Family Information Directory are popular databases that are in regular use, but we have seen an opportunity to create an even better service by merging these into one and making it more user-friendly.

“People who have used the existing directories are our best source of information as we start to plan these improvements. If you have ten minutes, please let us know your experiences and suggestions so that we can deliver the best possible service in future.”
