News from our partners: Local firms invited to express interest in new custom-built homes project
Shropshire housebuilder Cornovii Developments Ltd is looking for local firms to explore opportunities to work on a custom-build project in Shrewsbury.
Shropshire Council’s wholly owned homebuilding company, is working in partnership with Ark Consultancy Ltd, to seek informal expressions of interest from local companies which may have the potential to build and market 32 custom-build homes on the London Road development.
Cornovii Homes, Shropshire Council’s wholly-owned homebuilding company, has submitted plans for an innovative development of 137 homes off London Road in Shrewsbury.
The development will bring a mix of one-bedroom through to four-bedroom properties, which will be a mix of bungalows, apartments and houses, as well as the 32 custom-build plots.
The properties will include 89 low energy homes and 16 carbon neutral properties, and all will be constructed to be at least 31 per cent more efficient than your typical new build.
The development would offer a mix of affordable, shared ownership and market sale homes.
Dean Carroll, Shropshire Council Cabinet member for housing and assets, said:-
“There is great potential for local firms to explore an opportunity to help us deliver 32 custom-built homes to the highest standard.
“Cornovii, as Shropshire Council’s homebuilding company, strives to support Shropshire’s economy by working with local trades and suppliers to construct good quality, affordable and energy efficient homes for local people.
“The London Road development is the first of its kind and demonstrates that Cornovii Homes is leading the way in delivering innovative, sustainable and mixed tenure housing in Shropshire, helping people to take the first steps on the property ladder.”
