Notice published for Pontesbury Neighbourhood Plan referendum on 7 September
On 7 September [2023] residents in the Pontesbury parish will have the opportunity to vote whether or not to adopt a neighbourhood plan – with the notice of election published today (28 July).
A neighbourhood plan gives local communities an opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping their neighbourhood’s growth and development.
Residents will be asked the following question:-
“Do you want Shropshire Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Pontesbury to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?
Photo ID or a voter authority certificate will be needed to vote at a polling station.
The key dates are:
Polling day: Thursday 7 September
Poll cards issued: Monday 31 July
Deadline for registering to vote: Monday 21 August. Go to Register to vote – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
