More Shropshire roads to be resurfaced in July
Four more Shropshire roads are set to be resurfaced in July 2023.
Work is being carried out on the following roads out as part of Shropshire Council’s resurfacing programme for the year 2023/24.
- 3 to 7 July – U5504: Plealey Lane, Longden to Plealey Villa, Longden (ref 34701657)
- 10 to 21 July – C4162: Junction Haughton Road to A5 (4301170)
- 17 to 28 July – A41: M54 to C4178 Newport Road (4300457)
- 31 July to 25 August – C7205: Monkmoor Road, Shrewsbury (34700725)

The roads have been identified via a combination of local engineering judgment and asset management data as being in need of resurfacing. The sites form part of a countywide programme of schemes, scheduled to deliver the work in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
In total, some 30 roads are due to be resurfaced this year.
In June the following roads have been, or are being, resurfaced.
- 5 to13 June: A41 – Hand Lane to Telford & Wrekin Council area boundary (Ref 4310326)
- 12 to 20 June: U7719 – Stowe (Ref 36501207)
- 19 to 23 June: The Square to Riddings Lane, Stottesdon (Ref 4300824)
- 26 to 30 June: C1053 – Montford Bridge Village (Forton Bank) (Ref 34701539)
