Views sought from carers who access ‘Digital Carer Support’ to help shape future service
Shropshire Council are asking carers who have access to Digital Carer Support to take part in a survey, to help shape the service in the future.
The council commissioned a Digital Carer Support service in December 2021, which is currently being delivered by Mobilise online.
Mobilise offer low level, preventative, early support for carers, using technology to identify carers previously unknown to services, and provide support for carers who cannot access this during office hours eg working carers and young adult carers.
Mobilise’s offer includes:-
- An online network of people caring for others
- Individual support from a carers coach
- Daily live discussion groups in our online Cuppas for Carers
- Simple online tools to help at each stage of the caring journey
- A comprehensive online library of information and resources developed by carers for carers.
Cecilia Motley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet Member for adult social care, public health and communities, said:-
“It’s really important to us that the services we provide or commission are well-designed for the people who will be using them.
“We are asking all carers who have used Digital Carer Support to tell us their thoughts on what went well, any difficulties and anything that may be missing from the service. The feedback we receive will help us to do this.
“We are hoping to hear from adult carers with a wide range of personal experiences and different circumstances: we know that everybody’s story is unique.
“I would encourage all unpaid and or family carers living in Shropshire to take part in the survey: your feedback will be taken into consideration when reviewing the service. We would particularly like to hear from young adult carers and working carers.”
Margarete Davies, Shropshire Carers manager and carer lead, added:-
“Our Mobilise online contract will be ending in December 2023, and we’ll be recommissioning a digital service.
“We want to ensure we offer an all-round service to identify and support more carers in Shropshire, including carers who may previously have been marginalised eg working carers, parent carers, young adult carers and hidden carers.
“Carers can complete the short form and tell us their experience of receiving digital support and any suggestions to improve the digital service we are commissioning.”
Carers can find out more and complete the online form here: Digital Care Support Questionnaire.
Deadline for submissions is Monday 19 June 2023.
