The C road over Perry Farm Bridge near Whittington will be closed to vehicular traffic on 13 September [2022] when an inspection of the bridge is carried out.

The closure will be between 7am and 5pm.

The inspection requires access equipment to be positioned on the road and, due to the narrow nature of the bridge, this can’t be done without closing the bridge to traffic.

When the road is closed, traffic will be diverted along the B5009, A495 and local C road using a signed diversion

Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the inspection and access to properties will be maintained up to the bridge closure.

The road closure with be undertaken by the Shropshire Council’s maintenance contractor Kier, and the inspection by the council’s consultant WSP.

The inspection is expected to take one day.

Perry Farm Bridge carries the “C” classified road over the River Perry.
