Apprentices sought for the revenues and benefits service

We have an exciting opportunity for eight enthusiastic, motivated, and willing to learn apprentices to join our revenues and benefits service to support our busy teams and help shape the future of the service.

Not only will you be fundamental in helping us shape the service’s future, but you will also get to earn while you study towards the Revenues and Welfare Benefits Practitioner Level 4 Apprenticeship. Details of what this involves can be accessed from the link below.

Apprentices utilise 6 hours of the working week to focus on development alongside the apprenticeship.  Apprentices will be supported throughout the scheme by mentors, team, colleagues, and the training provider.

The roles are full time positions on an 18 month, plus an additional 3 months for end point assessment, fixed term contract.  You will be placed within one of our busy revenues and benefits teams.

Upon successful completion of the Revenues and Welfare Benefits Practitioner Level 4 Apprenticeship there may be an opportunity to secure full time employment in the revenues and benefits service.

The primary work base will be Shirehall, Shrewsbury; with a hybrid approach to home working and office-based work.

In revenues and benefits you need a broad skill set, as you will be dealing with a wide variety of people, from council tax payers, businesses, benefit claimants and other support agencies.  You will need to be good with numbers, able to interpret and explain legislation, and be proficient with using IT systems.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview and assessment day on either 10 August 2022 or 12 August 2022.  Interviews will be held at Shirehall in Shrewsbury.

During the interview and assessment, you will be asked to present a short presentation on a a pre-advised subject, as well as take part in a scenario based activity and face to face interview.
