Garden bird enthusiasts of all ages are being invited to some free drop-in workshops being run by Shropshire Wildlife Trust in Shrewsbury’s Darwin Centre this weekend.

The workshops are on Saturday 5 February and Sunday 6 February 2022 from 11am to 4pm on the Centre’s lower level – opposite The Collective.

Families will have the chance to:

  • Learn how to attract birds to their garden
  • Make – and take home – a fat ball feeder. All ingredients will be supplied for no cost, but donations will be welcome
  • Take part in a children’s colouring competition – which will be free to enter, and entrants can win a copy of Usborne’s Big Spotter’s Guide to Nature
  • Take home handouts and factsheets offering hints and tips.

Kevin Lockwood, Shrewsbury shopping centre manager, said

“These workshops will help children and adults understand how to connect with birds in all outside environments.

“The workshops will run as drop-in sessions, so just come along and see us when you are free.”
