Overnight closure of Thieves Lane, Shrewsbury, for repair work

A programme of remedial works will be carried out on Thieves Lane, Shrewsbury following the alterations made to the road as part of Euro Garages 278 planning agreement.

Shropshire Council’s planning enforcement inspectors have identified and raised multiple defects which are to be rectified.

Akinbuild – the contractor who have been appointed to undertake the remedial works – will be re-constructing and resurfacing the road and pavements within the area affected.

For safety purposes it has been agreed that the works will be completed utilising overnight road closures between 8pm and 6am from 15 November to 3 December [2021].

Whilst the road is closed traffic will be diverted via a signed diversion route and access will be maintained to properties at all times.

The traffic management measures will be removed each morning by 6am with the road re-opened to all traffic.

Affected residents and businesses will be notified and advance warning signs will be erected on site two weeks prior to the works starting.
