Celebrate your local library and discover how we are taking action and changing lives
Libraries Week is a week-long celebration of the nation’s much-loved libraries, this year highlighting the significant role that libraries play in their community as a driver for inclusion, sustainability, social mobility and community cohesion.
Throughout 4-10 October 2021 we will be taking action through a variety of events to engage the local community, with activities for adults and young people including Happy Mondays Club, Knit and Natter, Books Aloud, Smile – Musical Adventure for children funded by Arts Council through Early Hurley Burley project, One to One Digital support in partnership with Digital support for Shropshire Citizens, and so much more.
Cecilia Motley, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for communities, culture, leisure and tourism, and transport, said:-
“We have a brilliant programme of activities in libraries that brings communities together. Find out more about all the ways we can take action together to make a difference to people’s lives. Everyone is welcome and the library is free to join.”
