Many of us will have seen the good news about the UK becoming the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, paving the way for mass vaccination.
It is important to note that we are not at that stage yet. It could be up to a week for the first vaccines to be shipped into the country, inspected by Public Health England, and distributed.
More of the detail about how and when this will happen will be released in the near future.
In the meantime, we all need to continue to play our part in helping to stop the spread of the virus – and ‘Drive it Down for Christmas’. This means respecting social distancing, washing hands, wearing face-coverings, self-isolating when we are asked to do so, and booking a test if you have symptoms.
People with symptoms of coronavirus – no matter how mild – are being encouraged to book a COVID-19 test as soon as possible.
The following testing sites are available in Shrewsbury, Oswestry and Market Drayton:

- a change in sense of taste or smell
All appointments must be pre-booked.
