News from our partners: Free Brexit roadshows to help businesses prepare
News from our partners Marches Growth Hub Shropshire
With 42 per cent of SMEs unsure about how to prepare for Brexit, the Marches Growth Hub Shropshire, Department for International Trade (DIT), Shropshire Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) launched a series of free roadshows across the county to help individuals and businesses stay ahead.
The free ‘Get Ready for Brexit’ roadshow campaign commenced on 18 October to 24 October across Shrewsbury and Oswestry, providing attendees with a choice of full and half day courses to learn what they may need to do to prepare their businesses for leaving the EU.
Emma Chapman, Marches Growth Hub Manager, explained:
“Shropshire is a great place to do business, but we recognise the uncertainty Brexit has caused for many businesses — with many not knowing how, or even if, it will affect the way they operate.
“That’s why we were pleased to work with around 200 local businesses attending the events, providing some clarity and support, as well as utilising our team’s ability to provide the most up-to-date information, advice and guidance in the event of a no deal Brexit.”
Shropshire businesses heard from a range of speakers discussing topics that may impact their business, interactive workshops, Q&A sessions and pre-booked one-to-one sessions.
The ‘Get Ready for Brexit’ campaign was made available through funding from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and DIT.
