Shropshire artist Meg Hawkins to open unique giftware shop in Shrewsbury’s Pride Hill Centre
The Shrewsbury shopping centres are on a mission to diversify their offering and include independent Shropshire businesses alongside the bigger brands that make the centres so popular with shoppers.
Quick to recognise a huge opportunity for her popular and ever growing brand to reach new customers was Meg Hawkins who launches her new giftware shop on Wednesday 14 November 2018 from 9.30am with an official drinks reception from 1-2pm on the same day.
Meg Hawkins is a licensed, published British watercolour artist whose work features on greetings cards, prints, gifts and homeware. Meg’s unique style reflects the the movement and energy of the subjects she paints.
As well as bringing her incredible stable of products and designs to Pride Hill, Meg is using her shop to support other local designer-makers whom she is looking to collaborate with as well as promote via her dynamic social media output. Meg has a passion for supporting small, independent producers and regularly mentors and advises artists and designers who are just starting on their business journey.
Meg says:
“I am delighted to be opening my new retail space at the Pride Hill Shopping Centre. My husband Ade and I have designed, painted and commercialized the whole space together and we are very excited to be able to open the doors to new customers from Wednesday. I am hugely grateful to Kevin Lockwood and his team at the shopping centres for their support and enthusiasm which has enabled me to bring my dream to fruition.”
To celebrate the Grand Opening on Wednesday 14 November, Meg will be offering 10% off all of her own brand products. The official opening will take place with a glass of fizz between 1-2pm with the CEO of the Giftware Association ‘cutting the ribbon’ and bringing some further gravitas to proceedings.
The shop will be open late on Wednesday as part of the Christmas late night shopping build up so make sure you head down to the Pride Hill Shopping Centre to support this incredible local artist on a new venture that offers something new and a bit special to the centre in the run up to Christmas.
