News from our partners Veolia

Children at Brown Clee CE Primary School enjoyed a free recycling assembly last week.

Educating children to be good citizens and learn about the environment is becoming more important and Veolia – the waste contractor working with Shropshire Council – is offering Shropshire schools a free recycling workshop to remind children and staff how easy it is to recycle at home.

The workshop is delivered in a fun and interactive way by Veolia’s recycling officer – and there are free gifts for the children too!

To encourage everyone to recycle more, Veolia have started a new campaign called “Pass It On”. The aim of the campaign is to teach children how easy it is to recycle at home and to ask them to pass the message on to their parents when they get home.

Sue Relph, headteacher at Brown Clee CE Primary School said:

“It was a very informative assembly where we all learnt about how important recycling is, and also about just how much we can recycle! It really made the children think and we were so impressed at how much Class 1 remembered from their workshop the previous week. Thank you!”
