Business as usual…

Despite the heavy snow, we are very much still open for business.

Our staff are doing a fantastic job to keep people moving and care for our most vulnerable residents.

We are advising our staff not to travel tomorrow (Monday 11 December 2017) unless they live close to their place of work, or they work in an essential service.

Most of our buildings will be open though and we will have skeleton staff in place.

We have rehearsed this many times and our business continuity plans have been in place since Friday afternoon, allowing us to operate our services wherever we are.

Please be patient with us and we encourage people not to contact our customer service centre for the next couple of days, unless they have a weather-related issue that needs dealing with urgently or it’s an emergency.

For updates, please visit our website or listen to BBC Radio Shropshire.

Waste collections in severe weather

If we’re unable to collect your waste due to the bad weather, please:

  1.  Bring your recycling boxes back in (as they can be a trip hazard) and put them out again on your next scheduled collection day.
  2. Leave your bins out. If we can’t get to you we’ll come back and empty your bins as soon as it is safe to do so. Any additional bags of side waste will be taken.
