Make your own Christmas wreath at Severn Valley Country Park

Related topics: Leisure, culture and heritage

On Friday 15 December 2017 (extra date due to popular demand), Shropshire Council countryside rangers at Severn Valley Country Park are holding a Christmas wreath-making session. During the winter months, the park has a wealth of natural items including ivy, cones and berries which are perfect to adorn a festive wreath.

The event begins with a short walk around the site with our ranger to collect these items, as well as the willow twigs needed to create the base of the wreath. On returning to the centre, help will be on hand to assemble the wreaths and additional embellishments such as brightly-coloured bows and orange segments will be available to ensure each wreath is unique.

Susie Comaish, visitor centre manager, said:-

“We always know Christmas is just around the corner when we hold our wreath-making sessions. Each wreath is drawn together from the wide variety of items found on the park and our visitors always produce something special to hang on their front door.”

Price is £6 per wreath. The price includes a hot drink and mince pie.  Booking and payment in advance are essential, as places are limited.

We still have places left on our morning session, 10am-12pm and our afternoon session,  1.30pm–3.30pm.  The meeting point for this event is the visitor centre and coffee shop. Car park charges apply.

Please wear suitable footwear for the walk around the park and feel free to bring a pair of secateurs.

For more information and to book your place please phone 01746 781192.

Please note that the session on Friday 8 December is fully booked.
