Coppice Green Lane, Shifnal work – update 13 September 2017

Related topics: Highways, transport and environmental maintenance

There is currently work taking place on Coppice Green Lane, Shifnal, and this is a further update as of Wednesday 13 September 2017. For details of the previous news about this, please click here.

Further to concerns regarding the hours of the full road closure, whilst the closure period is between the hours of 9.30am and 2pm on weekdays to allow the contractors to complete works within the public highway, there is a period of time that is required to change over from having the road closed to having it fully open, including the erection of a pedestrian walkway, for safety reasons.

Unfortunately this has sometimes been taking up to 45 minutes to implement a safe area for road users and we sincerely apologise for this inconvenience. Bearing this in mind, it may be advisable to avoid further delays by utilising the diversion route instead between 8.45am–9.30am, and 2pm–2.45pm during weekdays.

Both Shropshire Council and our consultants and contractors are trying very hard to get this work completed and reopen the road fully, which is still anticipated to be after Friday 22 September 2017. However, if this changes we will do another update.
